Performing the “Cobra” yoga stretch that extends my back and hips release tension, strengthen the core and decrease my back pain. It’s more fun to do in a beautiful setting. I actually do about 20 of the following stretches every morning while blasting my music.
I will admit that I seldom do the Cobra while staring at stereograms… But I like this functional option.
The cobra and rocking horse yoga poses put the body in prone extension.
This position helps children to develop the postural control that enables them to perform many gross and fine motor tasks, including crawling and handwriting. Prone extension helps to normalize muscle tone and provides vestibular sensory stimulation. …..and it all begins with baby tummy time and airplane position ( shown below).
