Make a Vibrating Toss Toy

Advertisements

The vibrating toss toy can be used to hit balloons in the same way that the child below is using a cushion. Standing on a cushion adds a balance challenge to the game!

Using a large pillow filled with sensory items as my hippotherapy is shown doing below, makes tossing and catching a lot easier to control than using a ball. Its large, easy to grasp and won’t roll away…. Try varying the sensory contents to vary the weight, size, texture, sound, vibration and other sensory qualities. Here are a few suggestions:

  1. small balls
  2. small, light vibrating toys
  3. packing peanuts
  4. bubble wrap
  5. socks filled sand
  6. balloons or blown up gloves
  7. plastic pill bottles with pennies inside
  8. crumpled newspaper
  9. plastic grocery bags
  10. plastic eggs
