Younger children or individuals with fine-motor challenges may benefit starting out hammering pegs or golf tees into a single container opening. This will make it easier to visually focus and stabilize the container while focusing on controlling the tool. A good smack with a hammer also provides proprioceptive sensory stimulation that makes muscles and joints more aware of objects in space. This is an ideal activity to promote motor planning.
