How to Create Simple or Complex Dioramas….

Dioramas are typically inside a box, often a shoebox- filled with objects such as cotton ball clouds, shiny mylar water, grass, twigs, pine cones or acorns to create a magical woodland scene or structures folded from craft paper or clay. I have fond memories cutting paper, molding clay, painting and gluing the various elements to create a scene….

The following photos from the Topsfield Fair in Massachusetts demonstrate just how elaborate the scenes can be. The elements are within a contained showcase- rather than a shoebox …. so I am not sure whether or not they are truly “dioramas”- but they are definitely… delightful.

Dioramas can have practical applications as this post describes ….

How to make a diorama 👇🏼 1️⃣ Find a box, markers + recyclable or natural materials. 2️⃣ Allow your child to make something from their imagination! Alternatively, get inspired by one of their favorite books. 3️⃣Remember – your child will be creating this and coming up with the ideas. Try to be hands-off! Also… It doesn’t have to be pretty or Pinterest-perfect! Just let your child CREATE. The point is for them to develop motor skills, cognitive and critical thinking stills, problem solving, and much more! Are you ready to make a diorama? What do you think of my pathetic elephant? 😂🐘 Tell me in the comments and SAVE this video for later! ddioramaccraftscchildbbabyttoddlerppreschoolerllearningddrawingccreativitypplaypplaybasedlearningrreggioemiliapprojectanticapitalist
