Reaching for Clips on Mane during Hippotherapy Develops Balance and Hand Skills

My little hippotherapy client has Downs Syndrome and is under 2 years of age, but working hard to reach those clothespins. The pony does not mind at all.. This cutie pie eventually learned to reach for pins near the pony’s ears while posting (standing with feet in stirrups) and facing sideways…

This is a great activity to promote balance, crossing midline and sequencing tasks such as remove the in and place in container.
