Using an indirect gaze (also called peripheral or eccentric vision) may contribute to eye strain and/or fatigue when compared to using a direct central gaze. Astrid is working hard to use her vision to work on a manipulative puzzle, look where she is walking and take sideways glimpses at her colleague as they walk.
